Welcome to the official website of the Pu Dong English Salon (P.D.E.S).
The Pu Dong English Salon is a non-profit organization that is partly
supported by Hua Mu Overseas Chinese Association Public Service Center
of Shanghai Pudong, the CCP committee of Hua Mu Township of Pudong
New Area of Shanghai of the Communist Youth League of China and partly
through western expatriate¡¯s enthusiasm. P.D.E.S. was founded in Shanghai
Xiang Mei Garden on April 22, 2006. Within a year time that P.D.E.S.
has established itself as an educational leading innovator and the
newest contributor to English speaking and learning environment. The
membership has been grown ever since and reached to the capacity that
X. M. Garden can no longer accommodating to our functions. Fortunately,
Public Service Center of Pudong came to our rescuing, now we are situated
in the heart of civil district that is No. 2 Hehuan Road (3rd floor)
Pudong, Shanghai.
The mission of P.D.E.S. is to build a community among native Non-English
speaking as second language. The center provides the opportunity and
environment for practices and speaking out with confidence. We¡¯re
about connecting people though our English dialogue and our non-traditional
classroom atmosphere, there will be no homework, no books and No Tuitions.
It strictly comes as you are and learn as you talk and making friends.
The center serves the membership by being the linkage of East and
West cultures as well as providing a channel of communication with
highly skilled instructors and lecturers. The instructors and lecturers
involved with P.D.E.S. are volunteer individuals with a passion for
building a cross-cultural community here in Shanghai. We also provide
counseling and coaching support systems in time of membership interests
and needs.
We also aim to help the English development of local folks by sharing
the knowledge and best practices of west. To gain an insight of the
cultural differences, social and business etiquette and get practical
information on daily life per se, we are ambitious and optimistic
about our organization and hope the memberships share these sentiments
as well.
